Michelin Tire Critiques: The Michelin Primacy Tire And Michelin HydroEdge Tire.

0

Michelin tire overall performance is well-known and the Michelin Primacy HP and Michelin HydroEdge join overall performance and value that make best tires on the streets today.
The Michelin brothers, Andre and Edouard, registered their first patent application for a “detachable, repairable tire” in 1890 and made history that same year when Charles Torrant won the Paris-Brest-Paris on a set of Michelin’s finest.
Naturally, the Paris-Brest-Paris was just a bicycle race, but even so the win was an auspicious beginning for a family business that’s name would become Michelin Worldwide and synonymous for high performance tires and auto racing.

In the following paragraphs, I will review two of the most popular Michelin tires, the Primacy Hp and the HydroEdge:

The Michelin Primacy HP -

Primacy HP tires focus on high performance motor vehicles and supply precise handling and braking in mild conditions on dry and wet surfaces.
Luxury touring autos such as the Lexus GS 430, Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6, all sport the Michelin Primacy HP as original equipment.

The HP tire is sold as a luxury touring “summer tire.” But, don’t let that fool you. Summer tires are designed for year round use. (For best performance, summer tires shouldn’t be used wherever conditions are continually near to or below freezing.)

Consumers give the Primacy HP high marks in all categories: 10/10 for handling and stopping, 9/10 for comfort, 9/10 for fuel efficiency, and 7/10 for tread-wear life.
As far as I’m concerned, one of the greatest features of the Primacy HP is the availability of Michelin’s “Zero Pressure Technology” which provides safety and convenience in the event of a blow-out. Zero pressure tires come with a reinforced sidewall that supports the weight of your auto even after a loss of air pressure – even with no air in the tire, at all. With zero pressure technology, you’ll be able to drive up to 50 miles at 55 mph, so you’re able to go on to a safe place. You don’t need to panic about changing a tire on the shoulder of a busy highway and you will never be stranded or alone waiting for help.

Michelin Worldwide is also sincerely committed to “green” technology.
This year marked the 3rd season of the American Le Mans Series, Michelin Green X Challenge, which recognizes the Prototype and GT class cars that prove “cleanest, fastest, and most efficient” in each ALMS racing event. The Michelin Green X marking on every Primacy HP ensures that your ride is power efficient and that CO2 emissions are negligible.
In fact, when you ride on Michelin Green X tires you’re riding on one of the industry’s most energy efficient and lowest polluting tires.

The HydroEdge -

The Michelin HydroEdge is an all season tire made for passenger autos and minivans. At its core, the HydroEdge was created to deliver today’s shopper with value!

The HydroEdge is a high-quality, longer lasting tire that offers an unrivaled blend of service life, wet braking performance, and excellent fuel efficiency. Michelin boasts that the HydroEdge lasts 33,000 miles over its leading competitor, the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring tire; and, Michelin backs the HydroEdge with a 90,000 mile warranty.

But, make no mistake, the HydroEdge is all Michelin! It’s packed up to date innovations in tire technology: An uni-directional tread design is coupled with specially designed water evacuation grooves called HydroChutes that instantly sweep water away from the contact area to maximise traction and increase resistance to hydroplaning in wet conditions. The silica enhanced HydroEdge tread element is designed with full-depth sipes that deliver outstanding traction in light ice and snow. The sidewall contains Michelin’s Dura Black technology that keeps your tires looking sharp and black longer.

According to Michelin, “The right tires change everything!” I couldn’t agree more.

If you want a luxury touring tire that offers comfort and high performance, the Primacy HP fits the bill perfectly. If your driving needs require long lasting tire that lives up to the Michelin legend, the Michelin HydroEdge is your best option.
